UWI Parents .... Welcome to ALUMNI Online !
We are delighted that you chose The University of the West Indies for your child’s tertiary education.
We are sure that over the years you have talked with your child about the UWI experience. We hope that you share that same affinity for UWI as your UWI graduate. Many of you may not belong to the UWI Alumni Association (UWIAA) Chapter in your area/region if you are a UWI graduate, or the alumni association from the university that you attended, however you may join the UWIAA as an Associate member. You may be at a point in your life when you want to be part of something "bigger" and we hope that the UWI fits the bill!
We invite you to volunteer as mentors, to attend seminars and UWI events.
We invite you to make donations for projects that improve the life of current students.
You may wish also to donate the the "Needy Students Fund" on the campus your child attended, as in these challenging economic times, there are many students who need scholarships and bursaries. No gift is too small!
We know that you are aware that UWI provided excellent academic and co-curricular activities and has equipped your child for the world of work. We encourage your UWI graduate to make the most of the opportunities that he/she will experience.
Keep your child actively involved and connected to the UWI upon graduation! Please consider giving a gift of Life Membership in the UWI Alumni Association (UWIAA) if you have not already done so. This will ensure that they will benefit from their UWI connections in a lifelong manner.
We hope that they participated in the annual Student Giving programme FOOTPRINTS: Students for Development. They will have seen first hand that they were able to make a difference and improve their Alma Mater, so that future generations of Caribbean students will also benefit from UWI's tradition of excellence.
The Alumni Relations arm of the Institutional Advancement Division (IAD) is proud of the traditions of alumni engagement and philanthropy it is working to foster. We wish your child to show his/her "Pelican Pride" and invite you, as a UWI parent to also partner with us in support of your "UWI professional" and as an advocate for the UWI. Your UWI graduate is valued member of the UWI alumni family.
