- Usain Bolt and his Racers Track Club Teammates will have a synthetic track to prepare for international meets on at UWI Mona, Student Services Manager of Sports, Olympian Grace Jackson has confirmed.
- Mona School of Business (MSB) UWI (Mona) is now a registered education provider under the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Professor the Honourable Gordon Shirley OJ, Pro Vice Chancellor and Principal, UWI (Mona) received the 2009 Gleaner Honour Award for excellence in education on Oct 21, 2009 and was credited with steering the Mona Campus on to a transformational and modernised path. He was conferred with the Order of Jamaica on October 19, 2009.
